Let’s Meditate.
Experience the benefits of poi with our free Poi Meditation Challenge. Whether you’re new to poi, new to meditation, or experienced with either/both, this challenge is designed to be accessible, calming, and joyful.

How It Works
For five days you’ll receive a guided poi meditation delivered to your inbox, designed to help you reconnect with your body, calm your nervous system, and bring a little more flow into your life. Each meditation will be accompanied by a personal video message from SpinPoi Founder Dr. Kate to guide you through the movements, and an explanation of the science and benefits behind each practice. It’s completely free to participate, and you can join in standing, seated, or simply by visualizing the movement, whatever feels best for you. If you don’t have a pair of poi you can follow our easy DIY poi making tutorial.
The Benefits of Poi Meditation

Orbital Flow
Poi follows natural, circular patterns that encourage flow state – a deep focus that enhances creativity, happiness, and resilience. Entering flow helps protect against burnout, depression, and emotional fatigue.

Rhythmic
The brain loves predictability as it helps create a sense of safety and allows the brain to relax. That’s why rhythmic, repetitive movement such as poi spinning is proven to soothe the nervous system, support emotional regulation, and create a sense of calm.

Sensory Integration
Poi naturally engages tactile, visual, auditory, and vestibular input. Poi also helps strengthen interoception, the skill of sensing and interacting with signals from your body. Being able to interpret and respond to sensory information is crucial for emotional regulation and understanding and interacting with the world around us.

Meditation in Motion
For some, traditional sitting meditation is hard and it can cause feelings of anxiety or restlessness. Adding in movement can support the body and mind in slowing down and focusing, and is proven to lower anxiety, reduce stress, and alleviate depression. As an extension of your body, poi doesn’t doesn’t push, force, or demand. Instead, it invites you to tune in.
